Bollywood Fashion: Shah Rukh Khan is a super stylish Don
If you’re a regular Speaking Chic reader, you know that I’m a big SRK fan. And I am going to grab the opportunity of Don 2’s release to break down King Khan’s fashion statement in Don 2, because he’s looking fabulous!
There are two distinct looks for Shah Rukh Khan in the movie- one for Asia, the other for Europe (specifically Germany).
Look 1: Bad boy in Asia
In Thailand and Malaysia, costume designer Jaimal Odedra dresses SRK in weather-appropriate clothing. SRK wears light fabrics like linen and cotton, in pastels and whites.
I especially love Shah Rukh’s introductory scene, in which he’s wearing an olive green shirt and linen jacket (sleeves folded till the elbow) and comfortable white trousers.
As we noticed in the promos, Shah Rukh’s hair is deliberately unkempt with bad highlights, tiny braids, and tied back loosely. In this look, SRK is the ultimate stylish bad boy.
Look 2: Chic Don in Berlin, Germany
Girls are crazy about guys in suits, and when you see Shah Rukh you’ll know why. The baddest Don in the biz makes an impact in Europe with custom-made suits. Here the colour palette and fabrics change to reflect the continent’s high-fashion culture and weather.
It was a delight to see Shah Rukh in leather (loved the leather vest and the catchy zipper) and rich fabrics like silk shirts with luxurious finishes. His fitted trousers make him a mean and stylish Don who knows his fashion. The colours of choice in Europe were the darker hues of blue, purple, grey and brown. His hair is short and spiked.
I especially enjoyed was the clever layering. For instance, instead of a leather jacket, SRK wears a leather “shirt” followed by a formal wool coat.
Watch: Tag Heuer
Eye wear: Ray-bans
Body art: The “D” tattoo on his right arm
I’ve only one thing left to say—what a stylish way to end the year, SRK!
Ladies and gentlemen, what did you think of Shah Rukh Khan’s looks in Don 2?
